Dietary supplement for cancer patients. Cancer related cachexia. May initiate after surgery when patient is able to take oral food w/o complications for at least 4 days.
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Pour & mix contents of sachet in 100-200 mL water. Soln should be consumed w/in 30 mins. Powd can also be mixed w/ cold liqd (eg, soft drink, tea, kaffir, yoghurt, cocoa or milk). Discard unused soln.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity or w/ gluten sensitive enteropathies (celiac sprue). Patients undergoing organ or tissue transplantation, or those suffering from malabsorption syndrome. Pregnancy & lactation.
Not suitable for use as the sole source of nourishment. Suspend treatment at least 2 days before the planned gastroenteral diagnostic procedure in which contrast material (eg, barium sulfate) is used & 2 days before PET/CT diagnostic exam. Not recommended in childn <14 yr.
